Just recorded Franz Schubert's "Ave Maria" in my studio with bassist Reggie Carson for Abbey Lincoln's memorial service, being held on October 1st in New York City. Reggie performed a 3 bass accompaniment for chanteuse Ms. Evelyn Mason (Abbey's niece) who will be performing it at the memorial.

Hi Terry! I just read your blog. I am a friend of Abbey's and I just arrived in New York yesterday, for the memorial. I am looking forward to the many ways in which Abbey will be honored/remembered. I am looking forward to hearing Evelyn's rendition of "Ave Maria." Are you here in NYC? I am a jazz vocalist, looking for some good jam sessions!!! Are you performing in NYC this week or next?
Hi DeAnna. Thank you for your note. I live in Los Angeles and will not be in New York for Abbey's memorial, but will be there in spirit.
